Heather
Owens and Mélissa Michel, assistant-director
Heather Owens, Choir Director Heather Owens enjoys a full and busy life
as a wife and mother
of two boisterous children and as a musician and composer.
Holder of several academic degrees in music and public health from
respected British universities, a diploma in music therapy with
many years of experience in the field and a qualified piano teacher
with a licentiate from the Guildhall School of Music, London, Heather
certainly has a résumé replete with musical accolades.
But she
is no ivory tower academic! Her greatest joy is in composing Christian
music and in seeking to help others worship God. Motivated by a
strong desire to see Jesus lifted high and glorified, Heather has
written worship songs in both English and French, and has been a
blessing to Christians over many years in her home country of Scotland,
in Switzerland and now most recently in her new adopted home of
Canada. An overwhelmingly positive response to the singing of a
Christmas children’s choir set up by Heather in Rosemount
Bible Church, Montréal, has been the catalyst for the formation
of this new and exciting pan-Montréal bilingual choir.
Samples of her music can be found on our Music page.
